Hi. I'm just catching up with your and George's posting under Cauley. I've been working with Colley. I descend from Sparkman Bowen thru Benjamin C. Bowen. The C probably stands for Colley (Elizabeth's maiden name). Benjamin's sister Mary (Polly) is probably from her Mother's Mothers name. Then the son John was , I think John (C )Bowen based on the court papers. This C could also be Colley.I think these three children were Sparkman's and Elizabeth's only surviving children based on the law suit. John Bowen, Sr., Sparkman's father lived on Hwy 37 in Dooley Couny and was deceased in 1838. The Bowen's were in Wilkinson County @1815-16 and in 1820 census. They lived on the Laurens County/Wilkinson Co. line. Have you seen Bowen in the cemetery with Cauleys? From the will, I can see why the Bowen and other children challenged William's will altho doubt if they were successful. Does your court records show outcome of suit.? Thanks. Merrill
