Oral history says that three brothers and the pregnant wife of one came over from Ireland in a stolen fishing boat circa 1750-70. I belong to the northern brother (& wife and child) who had to settle and make a living and did so in Western Pa. There were many Caughron's and related spellings (my ancestor Joseph made his mark on his Rev. War papers with an "X" so spellings can't be counted on) in the Revolutionary war so the family was pretty well dispersed. If you would like more of what I have just ask -- I don't think we're connected after the Rev. War perior. Rich Caughron Notify Administrator about this message?
