I believe Garret W. is brother of my 3x great grandfather, James T. Caughran. 1860 Census for Lawrence County, IL shows a G.W. Coughron married to Eliza. It states G.W.'s birthplace as Kentucky.

Believe Garret W., James T., and John W. are brothers with possible parents of William and Peggy (married 1796) in Kentucky. Have not been able to confirm. James birthdate 1813, John 1817.

Also, have information that Garret W. married Lucinda Roberts 8/1/1834 in Clark County, IL.
