jane

there is another possibility to the name you have found. my family name is corhern. i have been researching this name on the internet for the last 2 1/2 years and have found information that the corhern name shows up in alabama and mcnairy county tenn. around the time you have mention. our name has been missed spelled, cohern, corhorn, cowhorn are a few. as you see two of those misspelled names are part of your research. my own family can be traced back to my greatgrandfather, william corhern from starkville, mississippi. i have recently come across a line of corherns who have been located in illinois, ohio, indiana, tennessee, alabama and one in florida around 1906. this may not solve your problem but may open a new line of research that may eventually solve your question.

sid corhern
