Wendy Sutherland wrote some time ago of her Caughey ancestors moving from Ireland to Glasgow via Wigtown. A Robert Caughey was born in Ireland in 1791. He moved to Wigtownshire and Married a local girl, Jane Kenmuir. Their second son, Robert moved to Glasgow and changed his name to McCaughie. I am descended from him and have details on the family.
