Absalom and His last 3 daughters.
It is said that “Absalom Caudle” had 3 daughters by a second wife; they were “Minnie, b. 3-3-1818”, “Margaret, b. 9-16-1820”, and “Nanna, b. 9-16-1822”. My 3rd G-Grandfather was “Archealus Mitchell Adcock”, he was b. 1804/10, he had one son that we know of, and that was “Archealus A. Adcock”, who in the 1880 Anson Co. NC Census called my G-Grandfather “Mitchell Jonathan Adcock”, b. 1874, “MAUDE, F. 6”, instead of my G-Grandfather Mitchell. In the 1900 Gaston Co. NC census, Archealua A. Adcock, named his 2nd daughter “Maude”. (I believe his mother, wife of “Ar. M. Adcock”, was named “MAUDE” or that‘s what they called her.) In the 1860 Lanesboro Dist., Anson Co. NC Census; bottom of pg. 28, is “Jefferson Caudel-52, his wife Margaret-54, on the top of pg. 29 is “William T. Caudel-28”, Thomas J.-23, Margaret-21, Pemelope-17, Jerimicah-12, Carolina-10, “Mary Manus 6-or-16” and then “John ADCOCK-14, James ADCOCK-5, and William ADCOCK-3”.SO my thinking is that “MAUDE”, is one of Absalom’s last 3 daughters; and she died between 1857-1860, and these ADCOCK‘s were left with our Half-Brother Jefferson.
