August Lynn Broadwater Caudill, 30, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 27, 2009, due to an automobile accident. She was born September 6, 1979, in Sullivan County, TN. She graduated from Gate City High School in 1998 and Mountain Empire Community College in 2005. She worked in the real estate business and as a paralegal. She was a talented artist. She loved to cook, bake , and was well- known for her creative cakes baked for all occasions. She was a member of Holston View United Methodist Church. August was sensitive and caring for her fellow man and even to the smallest of creatures. Her kindness and forgiveness of others is unsurpassed. We will always remember her beautiful smile and happy laugh. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ked and Sue Byrd; and paternal grandfather, Joe B. Broadwater. Survivors include her father, Jerry P. Broadwater, Gate City, VA; mother and step dad, Pamela Quillen and husband Ronald, Montross, VA; daughter, Meadow Caudill, of the residence; son, Brady Porter, of the residence; sister, Lindsay Quillen, Gate City, VA; paternal grandmother, Maxie Broadwater, Gate City, VA; step paternal grand- parents, Fred and Dorothy Quillen, Gate City, VA; aunts, Joyce Meade and husband Roy, Nickelsville, VA, Tutti Jennings and husband, Jeff; uncle, Joe Broadwater, Jr. and wife Judy, Gate City, VA; aunts, Joyce McConnell and husband Bill, Freda Head and husband Ben; uncles, Dennis Byrd, Dale Byrd and wife Brenda, Jerry Quillen and wife Kim; beloved friend, Duane Norris; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City, VA, and other times at the residence of her father, Jerry P. Broadwater, and at the home of Fred and Dorothy Quillen. Services will be held at 7 p.m., at Holston View United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Pierce and Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Kilgore, Jesse Broadwater, Joey Broadwater, Jamie Shelton, Ree Gefellers, and Andy Shelton. Music will be provided by the Fellowship Trio and Dale Jett. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
