Also check out the website of Robert Allen at http://home.att.net/~rjallen/ It sounds like you are a Jonas Cattell descendant. I have just been referred to the book "The Cattle Family in America" by Donald Heys Rogers. It evidently gives the descendants of Jonas and I believe your William and James are listed. (I haven't located a copy of the book yet.) A copy is supposedly in the library in Ottawa, Putnam Co., OH. That's not my county and I will have to do some traveling to see it.
