Most Catts seem to have originated in Sussex, England. Many of them lived in Westfield and surrounding villages. There is also a village there named Catsfield, east of Battle, near Hastings, Sussex where many Catts are buried.

My own Catt ancestors trace back to Rotherfield, Sussex, where Nicholas Catt was born in 1545.
