Greetings to all my Catron cousins. I am descended from Johann Michael Kettenring and Mary Marguard also. I am part of the Kettenring-Stroup-Venrick (WENRICH) group. My gggg-grandfather Peter Stroup married Mary Magdalen Venrick (oldest daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Venrick) in 1788. Magdalen's sisters Margaret and Catherine married Michael Kettenring and his brother Christian, respectively. My ggg-grandfather, Jacob Stroup married Mary Kettenring, daughter of Michael and Margaret Venrick Kettenring in Wythe County in 1819. Jacob Stroup's brother John married Mary's sister, Sarah later in 1826. I did not know the name of my ggg-grandmother Stroup (Mary Kettenring) until this past summer. I have lived in and around Kingsport, TN most of my life and did not know that I was related to all those Catrons and Ketrons around me. I am now searching for more information about my Kettenring ancestors and would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of Michael and Margaret Kettenring, the Venrick family, and also the origins of Peter Stroup. Thanks in advance for you help.
