Christopher Kettering came to America on the ship "Chance in sept. 1765. He settled in pennsylvania for a few years and moved to wythe county, va. He had several sons who served in the Revolution and received land grants. His grandson John Catron served on the tennessee supreme court and was appointed to the u.s. supreme court by andrew jackson. all in my book
