Dear Willard,
French Heugenots are a bit out of my range. They were Calvinists, and that's about all I know.

I found a lot of hits for Jean Balbani of Antwerp on Rootsweb. Jean is French for John. Giovanni is Italian for John. So it probably should be looked at. You may have to look for both the Italian version of these first names and the French version. Most of them are obvious, but Guglielmo is Italian for William.

There were 729 Balbani family members on Rootsweb. I would suspect a lot of them on Ancestry, the gigantic genealogy database. Ancestry has a 2 week free trial. After that it's expensive, but you can access it at most public libraries. You can also buy a one month subscription for $20 to $25 if you don't want a one year subscription. You'll want to look at the public member trees. Those are family trees that people have posted on Ancestry. They are not verified, but some of them list the sources they have used.

Rootsweb lists Agostino as the father of Nicolo Balbani on the Ahnentafel I copied for you, but a good number of other people are listing Turco Balbani as the father. A lot of those list Nicolo as the son, Turco as the father, and Agostino as the grandfather. You'll need to check that out.

The One World Tree on Ancestry is a compilation of the member trees. It has some interesting information, but mostly it is chocked full of errors. It isn't a reliable source.
Sincerely,
Kate
