Dear David,
The name of the priests' father and also their mother's maiden name would ordinarily be in their personnel records at the Archdiocese of Boston. Parents' names, place and date of birth, names of schools attended, name of seminary, places of service, etc. are NOT confidential, and they should not be difficult for the Archdiocese to get for you.

It is appropriate, but not required by the Archdiocese, for people to make a donation to the Archives. My Archdiocese actually charges a $5 search fee per record.
Sincerely,
Kate
