James Clohessy

Hi: My name is Maryellen Hogan and my e-mail is [email protected]. James Clohessy was my great uncle. His brother Robert was my grandfather (whom I never met). James married Eliza Morrissey when he was living in Laurel Hill Queens New York. They had three children. Eliza died and he married Hannah Pentnoy who was a widow with three children and then they had three children. James is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Queens New York. His fathers name was Robert but I can't find any substantial info on him. I believe they came from Miltown Malby in Ennis, County Clare. A Margaret Clohessy was a witness to his first marriage. He lived in Brooklyn for quite some time and then moved to the Bronx New York (where he was living when he died). I probably have some additional info but just wanted to get on line with this much. Hannah had a sister named Kate Black maybe you knew her.
Also, if Church Personnel look up the marriage of Hannah and James Clohessy, they will assume that you want just that record. If you tell them you are hoping to find a note about Hannah's first marriage to John Pentoney or her baptism, they will look for them, but it isn't automatic.
Sincerely,
Kate Hagel
