Seeking the transcriber's name and address for proper attribution in quoting "Diary - Miss Nannie Cathey, Cathey Gap, Floyd County, Ga." Her father's name was John Cathey, b. North Carolina 19 Dec 1795.

The family lived at Coosa, Georgia. The diary covers the period August 1860 through Feb. 1865 with lots of gaps. Some of the family are buried at Sardis Church near Coosa (Still on modern topographic maps). Daughters Emma and Sarah moved to Mississippi. The transcriber doesn't say what happened to Nanny and others.

A copy of the transcript with introduction was found at the Cherokee County Library, Centre, Alabama. Phone (256) 927-5838 and ask for genealogy department. Closed on Wednesday ahd Sunday.

I'm not subscribed to this list, so it's best to also reply to my email address.
