Yes I do know something about Andrew Cathcart - he was my Great-Uncle.
How much do you know already?Andrew was born in 1882 in Liverpool and was the son of Andrew Cathcart and Mary, nee Smith. The family had moved to Liverpool from Greenock in Scotland sometime between 1871 and 1874 - Andrew and Mary were married in Greenock on 26 March 1869.
The couple had the following children
Rebecca - born 2 Jan 1870 in Greenock, Scotland
Annie - born 1874 in Liverpool
William Smith - born 6 Dec 1878
Andrew - born 1882
Samuel Wallace - born 1885
Robert Gamble - born 1888
David - born 1890
Samuel Wallace and David died very young and, as you rightly say, Andrew was murdered during sectarian riots in Liverpool in 1909.I have a copy of the newspaper report about his death if you are interested.
Andrew junior had married Sarah Jane Bibby in 1903 and had two daughters - Bertha in 1907 and Annie in 1909.
My Grandfather was William Smith Cathcart. My mother Elsie was the youngest of his 6 daughters.
What is your connection to Andrew?Let me know what else you would like to know.
