Hello Meredith,I read with interest your search for information about a piece of property and a story of a barn in Gilroy and it's possible ties to the Castro family.We have documented Castro family for the Gilroy area up to the 1880 census.They mostly moved inland sometime before 1895.Did you ever find the family you were looking for?And if it was the Castros I would love to hear about it as several branches of our family lived there.We are always looking to gather information about them and share with others.I and several cousins are the decendents of different children of a Castro couple who lived in Gilroy and held some ties to Rancho las Animas and in earlier times,San Ysidro.thank you for your time,Tina Micheal Ruse
