I have always heard that my great great grandfather's family name was Castonguay in Canada. Supposedly he came to New York from Montreal and changed his name to Casley. I have found the Casley family in 1850 in Malone, NY and then in 1860 in Plattsburg, NY where most of the family stayed while my great grandfather came to Ohio before 1860. I believe Peter Castonguay was born abt. 1800 in Montreal and as my great grandfather was born in NY in 1835, Peter must have migrated to NY between 1815 and 1835. I have posted a message on Casley forum also.
