Isabelle, just this week I discovered the Plattsburg Casleys were still using the name Castonguay in the St. John's and St. Pierre's Catholic churches 1864 and 1879. In marriage records Therese Castonguay's parents were noted as: J.B. & Adelaide Charron. Therese married Jules LaCroix in 1864. Napoleon Castonguay married Mary Hagan, no parents names given for her. This surprises me, because on the censuses supposedly Celia married Julius LaCroix and later their name on census was listed as Cross. Also in one census the father was listed as John B. Casley, Sr. and later on as Peter. I'm wondering if a difficulty with English caused this confusion. Do you have a record of any Castonguay marrying a Adelaide Charron early 1830's. Thanks if you can help.
