Hello Marti,
Thanks for your message.I can send you what I've got on the Castons and the Highs, but do you mind if it waits?I'm up to my ears with Dorset lines at the moment! My Castons came from Norfolk, the north coast around Cley.I have Willaby Caston, the sister of my 3xgreatgrandfather marrying a High.Much to everyones confusion, they alternated the order of the surames from High Caston to Caston High.I have been in touch with Mike High in the States and will send you his email, in fact he has his own webpage. Can you send me your email address so I can send the data?I can send it in tree format from Family Tree Maker, or a genealogy report- whatever is easiest for you.The family story is that our Caston ancestor was originally Castro and came to Norfolk via the Spanish Armada.I have no idea if this is correct or pure fantasy. My email address is:[email protected] have seen Glass Caston on many websites and have contacted some of the researchers but have been unable to ascertain where they came from in England. Some years ago I visited the village of Caston in Norfolk, it took it's name from the Norman guy you were speaking about I think.I have found no link there to date. There is another village in Norfolk called Cawston, which is where the family could have taken there surname from if the Spanish story is untrue.Email me and I promise I will get back to you.Judging from your letter, you have no idea where in England your Caston hailed from?
Bye for now
Sue
