In order to verify recent research, I have obtained a copy of James Castles' birth certificate from the GRO in Northern Ireland. It lists his date of birth as 25 Sept 1873 and not 22 Sept as my family provided records had stated.
Everyone I have spoken to - both here and in my family - believes that his mother is Margaret Warren (daughter of John Warren and Margaret Brown) born c. July 1848. I have notes given to me by my late grandmother confirming all of this. Karen - you sent me a photo of them with the same name. Joyce - your notes say the same too.
However, the birth certificate CLEARLY lists the mother's maiden name as WARING and not WARREN.
What have other people done in this situation? I have 12+ sources telling me it's WARREN, but perhaps the most important source, telling me it's WARING.
Does anyone have any information to link WARING and CASTLES, because I don't!?
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help me on this one!
