I am looking for family and history on Cayetano Castillo, 11/25/1876 (Brownsville,Tx)- 02/25/1946 (Victoria),Cayetano's wife was Cruz Perez their children are Eugenio (Corpus Christi), Seferino (Galveston), Torbio (Pearland), Joe (unknown),William (Victoria,my father), George (Victoria), Cayetano(Victoria,Deceased), Ester,Lupe (deceased),Delia Garcia (unknown), Nora (Victoria,deceased), Hortensia, Jeresa. I never met my father, and I am researching . Cayetano founded Mission Valley Cemetery in Victoria county, shortly after moving to Victoria from Brownsville in 1896. A child to one of the above Castillos is Leoniel Castillo who served as Commissioner of the US Immigration and Naturalization Service from 1978-1982. 5/3/1889-2/7/1940.If anyone can make a connection or provide information,please let me know.FYI FROM THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS PENSION APPLICATION ABSTRACTS: Franciso Castillo, Bexar Co. Dec 1874, age 59, In the company of Manuel at stroming of Bexar. Recieved bounty warrant # 1176 for 1,280 acres issued as Francis Castillo. (p164). Cayetano castillo, Bexar Co. 4 Mar 1875, age 57, Pvt. in Capt. Juan Seguin's Company in and then in Capt. Manuel Leal's company at the stroming of Bexar in Dec. 1835 and at the battle of Concepcion. Was at the battle of Salado against Gen. Woll in Sep.1842. Castillo was born in San Antonio and was still living there in Jul 1889 (p162) Jose Maria Castillo Dec 25,1834 granted 1 league of land in the Power and Heweston Colony, Presently Bee & Refugio Counties ( Index to Spanish & Mexican Land Grants In Texas)
