William Samuel Castelow wed Mary F. Cook in 1891. She was the daughter of Jacob Cook b. abt 1831 TN and Ellen b. abt 1833 TN. I have not been able to determine who the parents of Jacob and Ellen are. They are listed in 1860 in Springfield, Dist. 10, R. C. TN: Jacob Cook, 29, Shoemaker, born TN, Ellin, 27, Tn, James 4, W. H. 1 and a Julia Kinton, age 6. In 1870 Jacob is gone and Ellen is listed in same dist. with sons James 15, Thomas 13, and John 3. In 1880 She is listed in Dist. 184, Dist. 10 with Thomas 18, John 13, and Mary 10. Jacob must have died 1869-1870. In 1900 Ellen is listed in home of William Castelow as mother-in-law. Her age is unknown. I haven't found her in 1910 yet. In 1920 she is listed in home of Thomas Cook (Jacob Thomas) She is 87 yrs old and she and her parents were born in Tennessee. Jacob Thomas "Tom" Cook and Sarah Ann Light are the parents of my grandfather, George Wesley Thomas Cook. I found 3 Ellens listed on the 1850 R. C. census. Ellen Colgin was born 1834 and resides in Dist. 10. There are several families of Cooks also listed in 1850 in Dist. 10, but no Jacob. He might be listed under another name?
