Thanks for the information. Mrs. William H. DeWitt's works shows many DeWitt/Casteel marriages in Maryland. Ezeckiel DeWitt had a son Peter. There were 9 children of Peter and Rebecca DeWitt. They were 1)Barney. 2)William married ? Casteel. 3)John. 4)Peter married S. Casteel. 5)Samuel married ? Casteel. 6)Susan married Archibald Casteel. 7)Henry. 8)Richard. 9)Joseph married Elizabeth Casteel. According to this writing, John DeWitt Sr. second wife was Louisa Casteel, daughter of Shadrack. In a paragraph on John DeWitt Jr. it mentions in 1855 land was deeded to several people including William and Nathan Casteel. It also mentions Joseph's son Richard married another Elizabeth Casteel. Also Joseph had a son Thomas who had a daughter Louise that married ? Casteel. Coming back to Ohio, I found a Archibald Casteel who married Rebecca Dew in Coshocton County. It is unknown if this Archibald relates to other Casteels mentioned above.
