King Date: November 08, 1998 at 11:06:41 In Reply to: Re: Seeking Casteel Research Books by Priscilla of 1961 Priscilla, I looked in Jean Brown's book and she has several Casteels in Maryland dating back in the 1700s but no James Frank Casteel born 1861. She did not carry the line into the 1800s. Also, she has listed several Casteels in Pennsylvania, but find no mention of your James F(Frank)Casteel. She does have a Samuel Casteel that was in the Revolution from Allegheny Co., PA enlisted 1776, some of his family moved to Nodaway Co., MO.
