My grandfather's grandfather was named James Riley Caststeel. He was supposed to have settled in Baxter County, Arkansas in 1839, migrating there from Tennessee. We have not conducted an extensive search and have very little idea about where he came from in Tennessee. He had several children, among which was my great grandfather, John H.P. Caststeel(died in the 1890,s). My grandfather was a namesake of my great, great, grandfather, James Riley Casteel(born in 1884). He dropped the extra 's' and 't' in his name. Some of his brothers retained those letters. I would be interested if anyone has came across the name of James Riley Caststeel in Tennessee records in the early 1800's. Gary R. Casteel
