I have been looking at different websites regarding Melungeons; a people of unknown origin. A very interesting group in southwestern Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. There are several thoughts on where they may have originated and all of them are fascinating reading. One of the sites lists Casteel as a surname. Perhaps that is why there is more than one Casteel lineage on the DNA chart. http://www.msstate.edu/listarchives/afrigeneas/199709/msg00463.html
