Hello my name is Matt Jackson and I am reseraching the CASTEEL family name. My Father's name was Augustus CASTEEL jr. from Cass CO. TX as was his Father Augustus sr. I understand that the Casteel surname is not common for blacks. I figure being from Eastern Texas and Western Arkansas they must be been slaves and took the surname of their owners. Any information CASTEEL slave owners or CASTEEL from TX.ARK. is greatful.
