Carolyn,
Joseph Casteel(Castell) I have been told was
part Indian. The 1900 census records indicated that he lived in Wash. Kentucky.
It also said he was b. in Kentucky. By tracing his birth year Jan of 1866, I found in Lawerence Co. there was a Joseph in 1880,
that was 15. I have no proof, but I believe that his father and mother were John and Mary
Casteel.
As I said before, family stories said that
Joseph was part Indian, and that in a round about way led to his death.
I have a historian in Wash. Co. doing some research for me. However, any info. would be greatly appreciated. There possibly could be a link. I would be more than happy to share information with you as I get it.
Thanks.
