I have reason to believe that the reported father and mother of John Casteel, (b. 1778 Greenbrial Co. now WVa.), John Castelo and Nokalakee (half Cherokee Indian) were names fabricated by my Uncle Charley Wilson Casteel and my father Boyd Baker Casteel of East Bernstadt, KY. Both shared a strong desire to have a Cherokee Indian heritage. And both did have striking Indian facial features. If anyone has information pro or con, please write.
