Hello:
Have you run across a Joseph Thomas Jefferson Casteel who was in Cass Co., MO per the 1870 census. He was originally from Putnam Co., Ill born 1810/11 in KY, father born in TN. His father might have been a Joseph (Thomas Jefferson) Casteel only because Jefferson was shown as Jefferson Castell (sp.), Jr. on an application to marry in Warren Co., OH in 1828 when his mother had already married her second husband.
