Greg, The keyword in the first P of your reply is "supposedly". A lot of work has been done, and many things have been found since Mr. Cooper published his book. Someone needs to get to the PRO and look a bit more closely. You are, I believe, correct in thinking that work must also be done in France/Belgium. Difficulties arise in that arena out of the fact that the lords of Blangerval had seigneury over areas as far away as Tournai, in Belgium. That could mean a lot of little local archives to inspect. Haarlem is apparently also a place to look, for records of Edmond's wife's family. Hopefully, over the course of the next eleven months, I will have opportunity to do both. I'm living in Holland now, doing research for my Ph.D., and both areas are close enough that I could easily spend some time there. My Dad has just made what we think is the final link connecting our line to Edmond, so I'm a bit more intrigued than I have been in the past. I'll be in London within the next four weeks, and I'll spend some time out at Kew and have a look. Met vriendlijke groetjes, Eric Notify Administrator about this message?
