Bill, my Casteel line is also through Joseph and Margaret and their son Samuel. Joseph and Margaret McClelland had several children: including Joseph Jr, William (our William's UNCLE) and William's dad SAMUEL. Samuel Casteel married Aggie Fields, their son William Casteel married Lucy Dingus Casteel. Their youngest daughter Margaret Casteel (my great grandmother). Margaret Casteel married John Franklin Blevins.
I have Margaret McClelland being born in Pa in 1720 and dying in Scott Co. VA in 1809. Joseph born in 1720 in Pa or Md. and dying in Russell Co. Va. in 1803. Does this correspond with your reasearch so far? I keep seeing Margaret Carson and just assumed that she may have been married twice and that either Carson Or McClelland was the maiden name. Looking forward to hearing from you.
