I have spend nearly 3 years checking the ancestry of Cassels. I have also found a connection to the Lord and Earls of Cassillis.
I have gone further back and found a relationship to Robert the Bruce and Robert III. Have also tracked back to Alfred the Great and others to about 900. The middle years (1300-1700) are a little difficult with too many Gilberts and Johns.
