Pat -- Thank you for the contact (Alice Begley). I will follow-up. This is very helpful. I have documented much about the Cassidys in Texas, but know so little about New York. There is some proof that two (and maybe a third) of James Cassidy's brothers were sent by the British about this time to a penal colony in Australia. I have been contacted by one of their descendants from that country. If I can get a better handle on James and his parents, I might be able to better document the connection with the Australian branch.
