Emma R. Cassidy The funeral service for Emma R. Cassidy, 98, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St., Batavia, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, 9100 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), Batavia. Born Feb. 24, 1909, in Chicago, the daughter of Julius and Sophie (nee Springman) Wagener, she passed away peacefully Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook. She was united in marriage to Edwin Leo Cassidy Sr. on May 27, 1929. Emma devoted her life to her family, especially her three sons. She was a member of the Geneva and Batavia Senior Citizens Groups. She was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She is survived by her three sons, Edwin L. (Louise) Cassidy Jr. of Schererville, Ind., Robert (Phyllis) Cassidy of Batavia and Ronald (Lynne) Cassidy of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; three sisters, Louise, Lillian and Flora; and a brother, Wilber. In memory of Emma, contributions may be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church. For information, 630-879-7900.
