The Valley Chronicle, St. Charles, Ill., 26 Oct 1894:
Mr. Barney Cassidy has become almost totally blind. His sight was reasonably good for one of his years (seventy-seven) until recently. Dr. Van Patten was out to treat him on Tuesday.
