Bryan,
This may be a long shot, but since your Thomas Cassidy was born about 1937, he could belong to my “Red Pat” Cassidy from Coppenabane, County, Cavan, Ireland.
Also, there were O'Haras who lived in Moneycashel, Co. Cavan for years.

I am looking for information about the family of Patrick "Red Pat" Cassidy of Coppenabane, Glangevlin, County Cavan.
I found Patrick and his family in the 1901 Ireland Census.
Patrick Cassidy, Head of Family, 70 (or b. abt. 1840), married
Ann Cassidy, Wife, 60 (or b. abt. 1850), married
Bernard Cassidy, Son, 32 (or b. abt. 1878), not married
Thomas Cassidy, Son, 30 (or b. abt. 1880), not married
Mary Cassidy, Daughter, 26 (or b. abt. 1884), not married
Nabby Cassidy, Daughter, 24 (or b. abt. 1886), not married
Ellen Cassidy, Daughter, 21 (or b. abt. 1889), not married
Peter Magee, Grandson, 6 (or b. abt. 1904)
The Mary Cassidy above married James Heart of Carrick West some time after the census was taken. They had 5 children. Bridget, Nora, John, Jimmy and Patrick Heart. All are deceased.
I believe that my great great grandmother Bridget McGovern a/k/a "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy (b. abt. 1838) is the sister of this Patrick Cassidy. Bridget "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy was married to Owen "Foxy" McGovern of Mully Lower, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan.

Virginia,
We may have a match. Was Michael Cassidy's father Patrick Cassidy? Was Michael's nickname Mick "Red Pat" Cassidy?
In your message, you state:

I just found out during my recent trip to Ireland that my great great grandmother Bridget "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy (b. abt. 1838) was from Coppenaghbane, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan also known as Coppenabane. By the way, the information came from a McGuire/Maguire of Curraghvah, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan.
Her father was Patrick Cassidy. Her brother was Patrick Cassidy and his family is listed on the 1901 Ireland Census. She had other brothers Bernard and Thomas too!
Bridget Cassidy was married to Owen "Foxy" McGovern of Mully Lower, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan.
I just posted new information when I returned from Ireland two weeks ago. Please check my recent messages. I look forward to hearing from you. I think we have a match.
