Good Day:
Some documents put my great grandmother's name down as Mandy. Actually it was Mindy Oliver Cassidy. The Frank Cassidy that you talked to that is married to Lena is my Grandmother's brother. He was named after his grandfather Frank. I have a family picture of Frank as a young boy. This Frank was the father of Amos and was married to Susan Cassidy. The Amos Cassidy that was my great grandfather did haul railroad ties for a living. But in photographs that I have he does not appear to be 275#. My Grandmother once told me a story about a time when a railroad tie fell on Amos's back and damaged his kidneys. He was laid up with that injury for several months. The entire family contracted the influenza during the 1918 pandemic. They were very ill. Mindy never fully recovered, having been pregnant during the illness. She contracted tuberculosis and passed away in 1922. My grandmother raised all of the children. Amos Cassidy was noted as being a most kind and gentle man. I know from listening to my Grandmother that she worshipped him. Mindy's father, Lorenzo served on the Union side during the civil war. I would be happy to mail you some copies of pages from the history of Crawford Cty. that have pictures of some Cassidy's.
Sharon
