John GRUBBS
Lawrenceburgh Press - 12 Mar 1874 - Mt Pleasant
John Grubbs, long and favorably known in this community, died March 6th. Mr Grubbs was born Nov. 30th, 1804, and has lived in this vicinity all his life. He was married January 1827 to Jane Cassiday, who died March 1868. His family consisted of 11 children, eight of whom survive him. 32 grand children and great grand children. He became a member of the Methodist Protestant Church in 1842, and lived a consistent Christian until his death. During his last illness he gave expression of his willingness togo. His last words were "Open the door."

John Grubbs, an old gentleman of 70 years, who had lived all his life in Dearborn Countuy, Indiana, died at Mt Pleasant in that county, on last Friday night. He was buried at that place on last Sunday.
