Hello Janie: You will find literally 100s of Casselmans in eastern Ontario--go to Ontario Gen Web and look in the eastern Ontario townships. The present day town of Casselman was setttled by these folks. One gentleman (Casselman) had enough cash and influence to convince the railway to make a side tour and place the railway in Casselman Ontario.
There were and are so many of them that I am sure some returned to USA.
You will find your connections I am sure.
(Maybe we are cousins too.)
