I am looking for any information regarding my ancestors. Matthias Neidermark and Jane Jarrett were married in 1751 at Gloria Dei Church in Philadelphia. Their daughter Sarah was born in June 1753. Matthias died in 1755. in 1757, Jane gives Sarah by indenture, property in Southwark in Philadelphia. Jane is living in Cloucester County New Jersey at this time. In 1757, Jane marries Samuel Davis at Gloria Dei. Sarah marries John Garwood on Aug 15, 1772 at Christ Church inPhiladelphia. Their son, John is born November 20, 1775. Sarah's husband, John died in 1777. Sarah is listed on the Philadelphia Taxpayer List in Southwark. There was also a Robert Carson and a Joseph Carson on the taxpayer list for Southwark. Sarah marries Michael Cazzell between 1779 and 1787. Their children (Martha, Sarah and Matthias Neidermark Cazzel) are born between 1779-87. Sarah and Michael mortgage their property to the trustees of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in November 1785. This was property Sarah had inherited from her father (Neidermark and Nitzilius families). In 1785 Michael Carson is named in the 1785 Philadelphia City Directory at the Christian Street property of Michael and Sarah Cazzel. (Was this really Michael Cazzell or is it a Michael Carson?). There is also a Robert Carson and a William Robinson listed in the directory nearby on Plum Street. In 1787 Michael Cazzell sells his dower rights to John and Mary Taylor of Tinicum Township (Mary was Sarah's aunt). Michael Cazzell disappears after this time. According to family legend, he left the country. In 1789 Robert Neidermark Cazzell/Carson was born to Sarah Neidermark. The father is not known. Was is Michael Cazzell who had left two years earlier? Or was it an unknown man named Carson. Once again, family legend indicates it was an innkeeper in Philadelphia named Carson. Sarah died in 1789, 6 weeks after Robert was born. The Taylors seemed to be the children at first. By October 1791, they were under the guardianship of William Robinson. It is believed William Robinson had a brass foundry. In 1808 Robert Neidermark Cazzel comes of age and starts going by the name of Carson. Did he change his name or start going by the name of his biological father? In 1808 Robert Neidermark Cazzel/Carson marries Catharine Proctor Burk (daughter of George Burke and his wife jane Proctor). He was a propsperous cordwainer. By 1833 he owned businesses on the corner of Lombard and Second Street and 2nd and Federal. His home was on Prime back to Federal. In 1837 Robert Neidermark Carson and Catharine Carson move with their family (except for the oldest son Thomas who ramained in Philadelphia) to Mahomet Illinois. Robert died in 1840 in Mahomet. I am hoping to find any additional information about this family or about William Robinson, the guardian. I would especially like to clear up the mystery of Robert's father. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
