Dear Margaret:

I don't know if Engels Cassel and Elizabeth Bier had a daughter named Elizabeth. I only know about their son John Cassel (who married a woman named Elizabeth Baker) and their grand-daughter Elizabeth Rachel Cossal, whose grand-daughter Mary Elizabeth (Amner) Carlozzi is my mother-in-law (her daughter Sara Elizabeth Carlozzi is my sister-in-law).

However, with all the children that people had in Engels' day, and with the well-established habit of people naming their daughters after their mothers, and with all these Elizabeths running around loose in the family tree, I find it entirely plausible that Engels and Elizabeth could have had a daughter named Elizabeth.

If I find any evidence of her, I'll let you know. Please let me know if you find out anything else about her, too.

Good Hunting!

Jonathan Tucker
