River Cashon, Co. Kerry, Ireland

Does anyone know the history or significance of the River Cashen in County Kerry, Ireland? It empties into the River Shannon around the town of Ballybunion.

Any particular reason why it's named Cashen? The Gaelic name is An Casan. Does anyone know how Casan translates in Gaelic?
