"A Short History of The Granville County Cashes" by John Stanley
For those with Cash family history from around the Granville County, NC area I wanted to make you aware of a book titled "A Short History of The Granville County Cashes" by John Stanley.
The Granville County Cashes are descended from William Cash of Westmoreland County, VA. He was an immigrant from Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland.
This William Cash also had an Uncle William Cash, a fellow Scottish immigrant, who settled in Salem, Massachusetts around 1667 and married an Elizabeth Lambert. This William, owner and master of the Brigantine "Good Intent", was a master mariner and operated his ship in the British Isles and American colonies for about forty years. It is speculated that he brought his nephew William Cash back to Salem with him sometime around 1672. The young William Cash is listed as seated in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1677 in a British tax list.
John spent many years researching his Cash family history and long before the electronic age. It is a spiral bound book. My cost was $65, including S&H, but I can't say that is what he charges for everyone. So if you contact him, please ask for cost of the book and S&H.
His email address is [email protected] .
