About this DNA possibility...
I am also a male with the surname CASH, and I have 37 y-DNA markers (of my dad's) ready to compare.
If you still check this message board, how might I go about accessing the STR marker values for these 3 aforementioned Cash descendants?
The "Surname Project" website is not conducive (at all) to comparing the markers between descendants (primarily because the results are labeled by "Earliest Known Ancestor" and not the Project Participant's name). It has other shortcomings, too, but this is the primary reason I believe we haven't had more Cash researchers step up to the plate to take a y-DNA test or to have a male (Cash) relative take one.
My results (or those of my dad) are pretty much useless if they can't be compared to other Cash males who have also had the test and posted their pedigrees (with sources). Of course, they're good for some things - like where my paternal line was 5 million years ago - but that's definitely not what I was curious to learn about when I paid the exorbitant testing cost...
Just sayin'
So, if you're still lurking around here, and if you'd be willing to share how I can access these STR-markers, please let me know (please post here so that everyone can follow, but if you must e-mail me, my email address should be visible).
Thanks!
