Annette's parents were Timothy Joseph Gates and Mary Marie Rodgers. Timothy's parents were Jacob H. Gates and Sarah Ann McMinn. My grandfather was Walter Franklin Gates. He is a brother of Annette. Timothy (Born 14 April 1855 in Missouri)and Mary (born 16 October 1855 in Missouri) lived in both Missouri and Nebraska. They are both interned at the city cemetery in Kearney. Jacob lived the latter part of his life in Clark County Missouri and is interned at the Union Cemetery in that county. Sarah lived with her childern in both Nebraska and Oklahoma after Jacob died. She is interned at the Old Moore Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Jacob was born in Ohio in 1818 and Sarah was born in Virginia in 1827. I have been trying for years to find out who Jacob's parents are. I think I know but have been unable to confirm it. Sarah parents were Joseph McMinn and Elizabeth Livick. Joseph was in the 1st Maryland and was at Fort McHenry in Baltimore during the battle in which the Star Spangle Banner was written.
