I can't provide you with any genealogical information on Col. E.B.C. Cash, but here's a historical note. At the Battle of First Manassas, it was Confederate Col. Cash that came across Union Congressman Alfred Ely on the battlefield. Outrage by the death and mayhem of the battle, Col. Cash cursed Ely as one of politicians responsible for the carnage. Col. Cash pulled his revolver and tried to kill Ely whom barely escaped with his life by shielding himself behind another man.
