Jim......although Don Cash always intended to publish a regular "book", he never made it past a manuscript of about 40-some pages (8 1/2x 14). A number of people have or had a copy of the manuscript, in various stages of completion. Much of it (beginning with the relationship of William of Salem & William of Virginia - my ancestor - and also these two Williams' origins, which Don believed and espoused to be Scotland).
I won't go into the depths of this, except to mention that many have latched on to Don's beliefs about Scotland without taking other theorys into consideration. As much as I personally like the idea and want it to be so, England or Ireland is just as possible.
As to Don's research on this side of the pond, most everything I've read in my correspondence with Don, years ago, has proven to be "right on". He had two cabinets (maybe more) of years and years of correspondence. One had only to give him a few days and usually he would find the answer to your lineage. If he addressed the Salem-Nantucket question, it is probably right.
I know, we all need something to back it up. I don't know if his grandaughter has custody of all those records, but was told quite a while ago that she was "supposed to", but have no knowledge of where, etc.
Good luck.
