1949 The School Committee of the Town of Barnstable cordially invites the citizens of the town to an Open House Oct. 15 at the Osterville School to inspect the new wing which has been added to the school. In honor of her 25 years of service in the Barnstable School Department, Miss Dorothy E. Reckendorf, secretary to the Superintendent, was tendered a dinner party recently at The Bacon Farm Club by colleagues and school officials. 1959HyannisCongratulations to Mr. and Mrs. William E. Cash, recently wed in a quiet ceremony conducted by Dr. Carl F. Schultz in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo C. Mott. Mrs. Cash, the former Dorothy Reckendorf of 26 Camp Street, was given away by her brother, Earle R. Reckendorf of Natick. Winthrop V. Wilbur of West Yarmouth was best man for Mr. Cash. 1958 The resignation for retirement of Miss Dorothy Reckendorf, secretary to the superintendent of schools and school committee, was accepted last night. Miss Reckendorf has been a secretary in the school department for 34 years. Remembering past years when Barnstable High School put forth a band complete with several majorettes, crimson-clad etc., it seems a shame that the school no longer is represented by a suitable musical aggregation.
